About the IMS & Microwave Techniques Acquistion
Microwave Techniques, LLC was established after the 2020 merging of MEGA and FMT and now adds IMS’s fluid heating and continuous belt-based systems to its portfolio. With three manufacturing facilities in Maine and New Hampshire, Microwave Techniques is unique in the microwave industry by combing the design and manufacturing of the most advanced high power microwave components with end-to-end industrial microwave system development.
The high power microwave components design and manufacturing division is based in Gorham, Maine. The industrial microwave systems group is based in Nashua, New Hampshire. The systems group is moving into a new larger facility this fall to support IMS production and its continued growth.
“We are excited to add IMS’s team and innovated portfolio of patented products into the group,” said Scott Knoll, a partner with Microwave Techniques ownership group. “We have always seen strong demand for fluid-based microwave systems so adding IMS’s patented fluid applicator unit is highly strategic and combining with our rapidly growing components business we can now offer all segments of the high power microwave industry a one stop shop for components, systems and specialized microwave design services.”
Deal terms have not been announced. The combined company will continue to use the various brand names (MT, MEGA, FMT, IMS, MCi and FXR) and employ over 100 people with over 100,000+ SF of production capacity across the multiple facilities in Maine, New Hampshire and North Carolina.
